# Public macMAKE v0.1.0 MacSurf build attempt

Date: 2026-10-13

## Result

The installed public macMAKE v0.1.0 CLI inspected the canonical MacSurf target, found 983 source entries, and started the ordinary project build. Compilation stopped in the MacSurf HTTP fetcher before the application could be linked or packaged. The compiler reported that `host` and `ua` were undeclared near line 421, followed by cascading C syntax errors. The MacSurf source history attributes the malformed fragment to application commit `9cea21a`.

No source overlay or application edit was used. This is an application-source blocker, not evidence of an operating-system loader failure or a macMAKE link/package failure. No complete MacSurf object closure, PEF, resource fork, or MacBinary was produced by this attempt. No Macintosh OS runtime test was performed.

The public release's separate two-source C example remains build-verified, including native link, PEF generation, resources, Finder metadata, MacBinary II packaging, independent structural inspection, and incremental rebuild behavior. That result does not establish a successful MacSurf build.

Historical MacSurf development-build runtime evidence on Mac OS 9.2.2 remains separate. It does not describe this public-binary attempt.
